USING REAL NAMES - Read before creating an account

Postby SimcarForumAdmin » Fri Nov 14, 2008 12:31 am

SimCar has a long standing policy requiring real names rather than handles for all three of it's enities, the forums, the webpage and the TeamSpeak server. Please, when you sign up, use a real name (or one that passes as real enough that no one suspects).

New accounts using handles will be promptly deleted by a forum administrator.
If your real name is Pete Jackson and you want to call yourself Jack Peters here, that is fine. Going by jacko387 though is going to get the account deleted. Obvious spam accounts will not be bothered with and be deleted on the spot.

Account Activation
  • As of June 24, 2009, this board requires an administrator to activate new accounts. You will receive email notification once your account has been activated. And, simply put, if you have followed the real names requirement, your account should be active within a short time (less than 24 hours in most cases). If you use a handle, we will do our best to contact you about changing your account name. If we do not get a response from you, the account will be deleted.
  • At the discretion of administrators, accounts created and never used, or not visited past the first day of activation can and will be deleted.

Protecting Our Members.
Why might we seem so uptight about names and new accounts? Our members come here to race, not to face spam or harassment. So, in the interest of all parties involved, use a real name, and verify your account.
